Good for naive eaters

Black cod with asian veggies and portobello mushrooms, on tea rice ($28)

Pretentious, albeit not entirely convincing, expensive restaurant on the Pacific Coast Highway. The location is exquisite, with huge windows directly on the ocean and quite comfy ambient. The service is prompt and polite (apart from the reception desk which seems not to be high class as this restaurant wants to be).... (read more)

Needs substantial improvement

From the Outside
5 photos

This little Indian grocery and food station is well located in the heart of Culver City, but it looks like it need serious improvements under all perspectives. Above all, they really do not care about their customers: 1) The ambient is shabby (not retro, not vintage, not underground: simply lame), featuring old table and chairs, old furniture and absent decoration, and unpleasant too. 2) The service is horrible: th... A for the Tea, minus for the food

Taiwanese sausage

Popular tea station that I was glad to try out in good company. They offer an impressive and huge selection of teas of all kinds and in all formats. These teas are, in my understanding, generally very good and definitely interesting. In short, my grade would be "A plus" for the tea.... (read more)

Their new Southern Style chicken sandwich

Quiet location
4 photos

So I got this free coupon in my credit card bill envelope, offering a free Chicken sandwich and I decided to check it out. The last time I entered a McDonalds must have been in the last millennium (read 1998), so I was quite surprised to find out a relatively clean and quiet environment. Even classy, for a MacDo, and (big plus) my sandwich was free!... (read more)

Orgasmic Discovery

Table with cool water (surprising flavor)

A place I was glad to discover today. I am sure I will be back. They feature Japanese cuisine with Korean influences. I liked pretty much: -the location: somehow quiet, clean, and relaxed -the huge portions -the way food is presented -the raw food and lettuce salad, which was fresh and refreshing, and made with good ingredients. It also came with miso soup and a bowl of rice -the soba, which was perfectly cooked and... (read more)

A Must-See ... Interesting Food and Location

Incredible location
9 photos

The best parts are the location (especially from the outside) and the cheap food. I think this is a remarkable dining place for the area, and it is also strategically located on the way back from the beach. Easy to find when driving.... (read more)

Good vibes

CuneoPizzaEater

Little, convenient, and unpretentious restaurant in the heart of Leimert Park (lately, one of my favorite spots in LA!) Features good vibes and abundant food portions. I do not know how much authentic is their Jamaican cuisine, but I know for sure that I was fully satisfied both in terms of quantity, quality and price. It did upgrade my Sunday experience!... Check the price before ordering food

Costly, and pre-sliced, burrata overwhelmed by garlic bread ($15!)
4 photos

Modest Italian restaurant with basic Italian menu (including various spelling mistakes, such as Rissoto instead of Risotto, etc.). The location is all right, and so is the service. Still, I found the bill a little too serious.... I understand most "Italian" restaurants in LA are truly expensive, but here at Michelangelo they should provide better service and food if they want to be in line with all that.... (read more)
